The Argument from Dimensional Contingency for the Existence of God

28 October, 2026 · Sebastian Moniz

I allowed my mind to wander for a bit and I started thinking about lots of ways to prove God’s existence. The following argument is one that I came up with myself, and it uses pure logic and mathematical reasoning rather than abstract, ambiguous concepts. I argue that dimensional contingency proves the existence of God, because it proves that something omnipotent exists. Something omnipotent is naturally also omniscient and omnibenevolent.

The Deduction of Divine Attributes

God – an omniscient, omnipotent, omnibenevolent being.

. Omnipotent – all-powerful.

. Omniscient – all-knowing.

. Omnibenevolent – all-loving.

Based on these definitions, something omnipotent must also be omniscient, because finite knowledge is a limit on power. Something omnipotent must also be omnibenevolent. This is because evil is a lack of goodness, and a lack of something is a deficiency. Omnipotence has no deficiencies, meaning something omnipotent must be infinitely full of goodness (omnibenevolence). Therefore, omnipotence, omniscience and omnibenevolence are inseparable and are dependent on one another.

This means that if we prove something omnipotent exists, that same thing must also be omniscient and omnibenevolent, which is the definition of God.

Dimensional Contingency

Every dimension requires the dimension above it to exist. For example, imagine a 2D stick figure drawn on a 3D piece of paper. Without the paper, the 2D stick figure can’t be placed anywhere, thus it wouldn’t exist. A 3D object with a length, width and height without 4D time would exist for exactly 0 seconds (which is the same as not existing).

Using this logic, it follows that each dimension has to have one above in order to exist, so there must be infinite dimensions. Each dimension has existential power (without agency) over the one below it. Therefore, it follows that the infinite dimension (∞D) has infinite existential power without agency.

However, this is actually a contradiction. If something does not have agency, it cannot choose to act differently from its own mathematical programming. If existential power is trapped inside a specific rule, it cannot be infinite. Therefore, ∞D must have either:

. A) Finite existential power without agency.

. B) Infinite existential power with agency.

We have already confirmed that ∞D must have infinite existential power, so the correct answer must be option B (infinite existential power with agency), which is the definition of omnipotence. Therefore, ∞D must be omnipotent, meaning it must also be omniscient and omnibenevolent based on our earlier logic. It follows that ∞D is God himself, proving the existence of God.

The Physics of the Paradox: Shattering the Logic of the “Unliftable Rock”

One of the benefits of my argument is that it completely destroys this so-called paradox. ∞D must be completely outside the matrix of lower dimensions. Therefore, to ask if ∞D can “lift” a 3D rock is like asking if a human can lift a drawing of a 2D weight on a piece of paper. The question doesn’t make sense. ∞D transcends 3D rules.

Conclusion

I know this may seem rather heretical, but this argument is entirely based on logic and mathematical thinking. Logic is a powerful tool that I think should be used far more within the Roman Catholic Church, rather than constantly relying on abstract concepts like faith. ∞D has absolute power, absolute knowledge and allows us to exist out of absolute love. Infinity is the mechanism that explains God’s existence, and that is why infinity is such a mind-blowing concept to us humans.
